great mouse pads: I got two of them, one for the backpack and the road, and another one for the home office. It's just annoying when trying to use an optical mouse in a Starbucks and your table happens to be an optical mouse hostile. You end up going back to the touch pad, which can be frustrating.
headset: My Dell Studio 17 inch laptop has a set of JBL speakers built in. And I'll tell you what, I was shocked in a good way when I first heard play them. They were awesome. Of course, they are great as far as laptop speakers go. When you're in Starbucks, there's so much noise, it is better to switch to the headset. In addition, when you listen to your private message, or questionable YouTube video, it's better to keep for themselves a sound!
SD: can be used mainly for backup. I can set up a backup over the large 4 GB SD card, I use Backup to my other desktop when I am at home. So, with double backups, one is sure to work. The SD is very nice, I can take it out and put in the SD card from my digital camera. I can make a very nice and fresh screen savers that way!
17 inch laptop backpack and an extra laptop sleeve: You can not go wrong with an extra padded protection for your laptop. You see, with a backpack, it becomes very clear that you are carrying a laptop, so it is not the immediate goal would-be thieves. With the sleeves, I get an extra layer of protection, just in case, my backpack fell harder than usual.
