Dell has always been known for producing solid laptops. Since the market for a new laptop a few months ago, I have some research and discovered that the E6400 is a machine that would serve me well. Dell Latitude E6400 is a very popular replacement for the Dell D630 which I also had the opportunity to work with. Being happy with the D630, I felt that the E6400 would be a good choice for me.
After spending several days trying to configure my laptop with the Dell sales team, finally got it right and sent me my machine. After opening the box, I was very excited to see my new računalo.Mat sleek black finish makes this a very good looking machine.
I turned the computer and was pleasantly surprised to see a backlit keyboard in action. This is a $ 50 upgrade, but let me tell you that it is well worth it. I am typing this review right now in the dark, without any problems what so ever.
After a few minutes admiring my new computer, I noticed in the upper right corner of the keyboard is at an angle different from the rest of the keyboard. I thought it was strange, but realized it was just the way it was designed. After analyzing the computer more, I noticed that the right speaker grill is a clue in it. It almost looked like a flat screw driver fell on him.
These were minor things that I could handle the moment so I continued to go about my business and put my new laptop for work.
Something told me the keyboard was broken, because it almost seemed like it was stuck down. I would work on something and every so often, something random will happen on the screen. I even installed a key logger to try to find out what was the matter, which is a key cause of the problem.
After watching the dailies on key logger, I saw that the CTRL key was pressed repeatedly caused the keyboard short cuts. For I am sure that this issue is the keyboard so I took the laptop apart and took out the keyboard. After looking at the keyboard for a while, I noticed that the idiot who put the laptop keyboard is jammed and that's why the top left corner of the keyboard looked savijena.Cijeli upper right corner of the keyboard is bent and pried into place so I straightened as the best I could and put it back in the laptop.
keyboard layout uniform and now I tried it out. Same problem - the CTRL key is played. After more troubleshooting, I discovered that the touch pad was the cause of the problem. Apparently, there is a function of the touch pad to zoom in and out which emulates pressing the CTRL and the + and - keys. Whenever my finger on the left touch pad, it will cause the CTRL key part, so I turned off this feature and all was well.
I thought, because the laptop is under warranty I would get a new keyboard and the right speaker grill. At least Dell is good about sending replacement parts. They arrived the next day.
system is still unstable. I constantly had to review the logs in event viewer management console to see what could be causing my nevolje.DVD Recorder also acts kept the drop in my system so I ordered it through Dell. After a couple of updated and new DVD drive, my system is finally working as it should.
such that for some time that this computer is running like it should. Dell designed a solid machine, my only complaint is with Dell inability to get it right the first time .... the second time ... third time ....
Dell Latitude E6400 is a solid, well built machine that looks great funkcionira.S backlit keyboard is a very nice touch and basic (shares) display is good for everyday use. Keyboard keys are springy and feel nice to the touch. There are 4 USB ports (2 on the left side and 2 on the right side). One of the USB port doubles as an e-SATA port, which is nice! There is a VGA port on the left side of the display connector on the rear. The right engine fire wire port and there is a smart card port on the computer. The screen is sturdy and you need 2 hands to open the laptop, which is a nice touch čvrste.Touch pad works well, and the buttons are easy to push. I got a web cam option that works well for video conferencing. There is, of course, the power connector on the back, along with a standard microphone and headphone jacks on the right side.
All in all, this is a great laptop, and I would definitely recommend it to others. Just be weary when the machine and make sure everything works on it. Make sure that no dings on the machine because some newbie in the factory fell on the floor.
